Himachal
|
Himachal is a truly dramatic state with high mountains, deep valleys and rushing rivers. A state where the plains of the subcontinent rise up and meet the orchard clad hills and snow capped peaks of the southern Himalayas.
The arid peaks and valleys of Spiti in the north and the remote wooded Kinnuar valley in the west make Himachal one of the most topographically diverse states in India.
Himachal is characterised by quaint Hill Stations built during the British administration in India. Shimla, Manali and Dharamsala are all busy market towns now, the latter also being home to the Dalai Lama, spiritual leader of Tibet.
