Rajasthan

Rajasthan ‘the Land of Kings’ is characterised by its many grand Forts and Palaces built by the famous Rajput warrior clans, who ruled the state for more than a millennium. This Medieval state is India’s most colourful, producing brilliant fabrics and materials, evident in the traditional dress of the region.

The dry arid state is dominated by the Thar Desert in the west. The landscape gradually develops into an area of dry deciduous forest and hills in the east.

Ranthambhore National Park in eastern Rajasthan is one of the India’s finest national parks and a great place to spot a tiger. In fact 60% of all Tiger footage in the world has been shot in this 1334 sq. km park.
